'Queens Chair'Westminster Cathedral 1995
Commissioned by Westminster Cathedral to mark Queen Elizabeth II visit to the cathedral on St Andrews Feast Day on November 30th 1995 to attend coral vespers invited by Cardinal Basil Hume.
This marked the first time a reigning monarch had attended a catholic service for approximately 400 years following King Henry VIII split with Rome.

The chair, which was intended to be the foundation piece for the St Georges Chapel at the cathedral, is made from Indian rosewood with carved turret details referencing Westminster Cathedrals architecture. In the back of the chair is the cross of St George with pierced and gilded splats, the cross of St Andrew is represented in the under stretcher.
The prie-dieu has inlaid rose in mother of pearl and boxwood.
